As of January 1, 2017, the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences (SEFS) at the UW has been accredited by SAF for the Masters of Forest Resources and two undergraduate Bachelor of Science (B.S.) options within the Environmental Science and Resource Management degree. The Sustainable Forest Management option has been granted initial accreditation and the Natural Resource and Environmental Management option has been granted provisional accreditation.
In recognition for his exceptional work as a Tree Farm Inspector and his outreach efforts in promoting sustainable forestry across Washington State, Tom Westergreen received the Regional Outstanding Inspector of the Year 2017 award from the American Tree Farm System (ATFS).
“I was very surprised the local committee nominated me,” Westergreen said. “It’s very kind of them to recognize the work I have done over the years.”
