This position is based out of our Chehalis, Washington office, and reports to the Division Forester. This is an entry-level position. Our Division Forester and other team members are here to mentor you on timber sale acquisition, contract administration, and quality control responsibilities. The jobs consist of 80% fieldwork and 20% office work. The work area will be in Washington and Oregon.
The primary focus of this position will be training and involvement in timber cruising, timber sale, and road construction appraisals, contract negotiations, timber sale administration, and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). You will work closely with local contractors to facilitate the harvest and delivery of logs to Hampton Lumber mills and external customer mills safely and efficiently, meeting the required specifications. Our Foresters work closely with our sawmill teams to review the quality, profile, and scale of the inbound logs to ensure quality control.
