Supervisory Project Manager, Environmental Planner 5

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Forest Practices Division. Your project management team is responsible for helping the forest practices Adaptive Management Program administer a multi-million-dollar portfolio of scientific forestry studies and related projects.

Civil Engineer

The Modoc National Forest intends to fill a Civil Engineer position in the GS-09 to GS-11 range, located at the Supervisor’s Office in Alturas, California.  The Forest is considering multiple grades and hiring authorities to ensure a diverse candidate pool. Annual pay ranges from $59,907- $84,049 depending on qualifications and experience, which reflects the higher special rate for engineers. Forester-Silverculturist (II, III, IV)

The Forester/Silviculturist functions under the general direction of the Forest Program Manager and is in charge of all phases of Presale/Silvicultural programs on all Kalispel Tribal forested lands. Areas of responsibility include preparation of harvest units, timber stand improvement prescriptions, meeting annual allowable cut (AAC) targets, developing annual and 5 year harvest schedules, planning and directing Forest management and inventory planning programs, and ensuring all forestry activities meet the requirements of the National Environmental Protection Act.

Division Director/State Forester

This position is based out of our Springfield office and reports to the Springfield Area Manager, with additional accountabilities to the Region Forester for silvicultural activities in the area. It is a full-time, exempt position. Salary level is dependent on skills and experience.
